I have been using an HTC U11 for years. It's been a great phone until last week when it failed the security check and I cannot use it for payments.

I do not care to have the latest and greatest and the Pixel 3 is 300 off their regular price.

Will the unlocked version work on Verizon. I'm sure the verizon version loads tons of crap that I will not want. I also expect the unlocked version to get faster updates. Am I correct on that?

Anything I should be aware of when I make this switch. any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I just got one a couple of weeks ago - taking advantage (or being taken advantage of) of signing up for Google Fi. I have not tried using my Verizon sim card in it yet. I guess I could but that might only confuse me and Verizon. My Verizon sim is still in my KeyOne which is still my primary cellphone. I transferred a t-mobile number to the Google account.

I am heading to China for a tour and wanted connectivity (as much as possible) without mortgaging my home to pay Verizon's rates! The phone seems nice - still getting use to the newer interface/homescreen. I would prefer if Recents were recalled by a button (hard or soft) and not by most of my swipes.

Of course, not really following trends, I did not realize that Pixel 4 may be here soon but it would cost more, too.

I have the Verizon version of the 3XL. Very little bloatware and you can uninstall all of it.

I've had no issues with getting updates.

I love pixels and have been tempted over and over again by their $300 off deals on the 3's, but honestly the 3 series have had nothing but problems, right now there's a major issue Google's trying to fix with Android 10 and cell and wifi reception with the 3's. Honestly I would either wait for the 4's to come down in price or pick up another quality Android device on sale like a Samsung.

I bought both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL for $300 off from Google Fi last month and have been using them for about 2 weeks now. They work great and I have had no issues with cell or wifi reception. I would add that I used my LG G6 last month on Google Fi in Serbia and had absolutely no issues with reception. Fi and Pixel is a great combination!
