No real context, except for the fact that my mom gave me her iPhone 5se, but when I graduate I'm bound to get a new one and I'm torn between the new 7 or a new android device. I moved from the Samsung Galaxy S4 to the 5se.

The iPhone SE is a superb device. If it does what you want, stick with it. It will be good for years, so there's no need yet to think of replacements.

It's entirely your call. A rough rule is, if you like to tinker, Android is the way. If you just want a phone to use with minimal input from you, then the fruity devices will suit you. If you're a young person with friends with iPhones, you will miss out on some stuff they can do it you not on that platform.. If you use the iPhone for a while and then compare the operating systems, then you can make an informed decision. Have fun!!!
