Should I get s22 Ultra for personal photos and videos

First I ask no negative comments, I am an android person 100%. I have seen YouTube videos on how much better the IPhone 13 pro max is so much better than android in photos and videos. I currently have a s21ultra, I know or have read that the s22ultra is alot better. I was considering the iPhone ONLY for video and photo purposes. First is the iPhone that much better to go to the dark side for this purpose? I was criticized royal mentioning the iPhone, I would rather stay android. Then I have considered a 35mm digit camera system for this purpose. I'd appreciate any advice not condemning me for mentioning the iPhone. Thanks

I use both Android and iPhone for many years, Samsung /Google/iPhone cameras they going to do some things little better then the other but nothing mind blowing and are pretty close except zoom levels Wich Samsung owns hands down , if you want a iPhone as 2nd hand device go for it they are solid phones .

I always prefer my 12 Pro Max photos and videos over my Fold 3’s, but I read a lot about S22 Ultra cameras being a lot better than Fold ones. So I think that’s up to you, but even if I acknowledge iPhone lenses are superior, I would consider buying one only to make photos and videos a bit overkill.

Now I do have an old 16 mp Nikon D5100 camera that I've read is alot better quality than cell phones? I might just look at getting a good prime lense and flash and keep my s21 Ultra, but still haven't decided yet.

Not sure where you read the S22U has a much better camera, it literally uses some of the same camera sensors and reviews show near identical photo results. The telephoto performance is improved, but primary and wide angle are nearly identical.

What's your primary type of photos you will be taking? If just pictures to send to relatives and friends or an occasional 4x6 photo, i would stay with the S21U. From what I have read, not much difference between the S21U and S22U and my experience, although it is short, with the S22U the photos are quite good.

However, if I was going to head back out and do some actual serious photography to take photos that can be enlarged to 12x18 for wall hanging, personal or for sale; I would recommend a full frame DSLR camera with a prosumer type lens.

But you have to consider the weight difference. My D850, with a 24-70 4/2.8 is over four lbs. And the 70-200 f/2.8 adds another 3+ lbs to the shoulders. (And yes, the photos from the S21U can be enlarged easily to 12 x 18; but that does not mean they will be "good." Takes more than pixels to make a great large photo, takes a darn good lens, and sensor.)



However, Nikon makes some great lenses that will work with the D5100, but it is a DX (half-Frame) camera.

However, it will all depend on your photo needs. Basically, point and shoot or prosumer.

The S22U camera isn't 'a lot' better than the S21U camera. Having owned both, they're pretty identical. Sure the S22U might be marginally better, but if you have the S21U, I don't think it's worth the upgrade to the S22U just for the camera's.

Aside from that, I'd definitely say the iPhone has the best video recording capability. It's clear, it's smooth, I don't see microstutters that I do in all android phones, it's great.

As far as photography goes, I'd actually put the Pixel over the Galaxy and iPhone. I think for still shots, the Pixel takes overall the best images, then I think I'd place the iPhone at #2 and Galaxy at #3. Even then it's like slight differences between the three. It's not like the Pixel runs away with it and takes hands down the best images. In some shots I've taken, it doesn't.

If you have the S21U and you're after substantially better photo/video quality, you're better off going with a dedicated DSLR or micro 4/3 camera or something. They'll be a definite step up from phone cameras.

Personally, if you are just taking pics of kids and pets, and normal everyday things, I can't tell much difference in the camera quality. I don't think it's worth it to completely change phone systems just so the pics, which are already Incredible compared to 3-4+ years ago, are 10% "better".

Just seems like a lot of hassle, for everything else that a phone is used for, to change for pics and videos that you probably won't notice a difference.

To be fair, I'm a middle aged man who doesn't take many pics, and certainly don't care if the ones I do take are of professional quality.
