Should I Get This Over the GS4/Nexus 4?

Hey guys,

Now that I'm selling my Droid DNA, I'm debating over the Nexus 4 vs One vs GS4 for my next phone (switching to T-Mo). The deciding factor may be the development communities for the respective phones. Which is better - the One or the GS4s development community? Obviously the Nexus 4's is fantastic.

I previously had a GNex so I love stock android but I think I may want to try something else for a change until the Nexus 5 comes out. The N4 has slightly dated hardware now so is it a better option to go with a GS4 or a One? Help me out here! :p

Well you are on the One forum so I'm pretty sure which response you'll get from most.

For me personally I've been able to test both for nearly a month now and I can't fall in love with the One as much as I want HTC to be a competitor to Samsung.
Outside of that, I find that the developer support pool is deeper with Samsung than HTC but that's an observation not an empirical data point.

What is it that you'd like to do with the phone? Run latest android? Run custom roms? Tinker with stock rom but maintain root and ability to reflash?

Yeah, I really need the ability to run custom roms/latest android. I am leaning toward the One because of build quality, I held it in the store and was blown away. I think I prefer Sense 5 over Touchwiz so I think the GS4 is out, I had a Note 2 for awhile.

The Nexus 4 is a better bargain if I want to upgrade sooner and instead of having to pay ~400 off on the One, it would be close to paid off. Tough decisions.

Basically get the HTC if you want a better camera, zoes/highlights, and better screen.

Get the Nexus 4 if those don't matter and you want to switch phones before 2 years, or if stock android is necessary.
