I know this is a bit stupid considering this is a forum dedicated to Samsung phones but I still want your honest opinions.

Hey guys, just wanted to know which one to buy. I'm in a 50-50 situation. My first choice would be to buy the Xperia Z3+ since I a big gamer when it comes to mobile games (I'm planning to have about 5-7 games simultaneously) plus I like how it's waterproof and "sturdier" than GS6 and was alredy getting ready to buy it once it gets release but recently I've heard that there's overheating issues with the device, Sony said they'd have a software update to fix that, but would that actually fix it?

I like the new GS6 since it really feels premium but the biggest downsides I've heard are the battery life (pretty sure this will be a big problem since I play games on my phone A LOT and I like to listen to music too) and recently I saw how "almost" everyone has been complaining about the bug (the phone can't recognize their fingerprint) with their fingerprint scanner which made more nervous on buying it. Saw a few drop tests and it looks like it's sturdy enough (not that I'm planning to drop it or anything but I'm really clumsy). I'm probably gonna buy the 64GB variant just so that I'd have enough memory to last for about 3 years or so.

Any tips?

Welcome to the AC Forums.

I upgraded for the GS4 and have never regretted my decision to purchase the best smartphone that I have owned. It is fast and smooth with a great camera with noticeable lag. Battery life, which varies greatly by user habits, device setup and carrier. There are a couple of issues with cell standby and RAM management that are causing some angst that an upcoming update and Android M should fix and enhance their performance and battery life. The wireless charging works great. The rapid charging and keeping a power bank handy should make gaing no issue. My battery life is more than adequate to get through a day and is better than my wife's GS4 and my dads GS5. Samsung Pay will allow tap n go and MST. The features and performance of this device make it future proof enough to last for a couple of years. I've had the device since launch and don't miss the expandable storage or replaceable battery. TouchWiz is much more unified and optimized that third party launchers are an option not a necessity. It is one of the lightest iterations of the UI skin in years.

No fingerprint scanner bugs? Thanks for the reply will try and add this to my list.
Also thanks for the link will check it out now.
Still waiting for the gamers out there on their opinions though...

Being a big gamer I'm not 100% sure the S6 is the right device for you, since games eat at the battery and the S6 has a small one to boot. I love my S6 but I can admit games do chew through it's battery especially the screen being as high resolution as it is. Just my 2 cents.

So If I were to leave the house say with a 100% battery life in the morning, and about 30 minutes to an hour of gaming time, moderate texting time, few calls, might take pictures too and then arrive home at about 8:00 p.m. do you think my phone would survive? (With all the other apps running too)

For me that would but I don't play intensive games, just candy crush or plants vs zombies 2. If you're playing graphic intensive ones it could vary, I will leave it to someone else with more experience who plays power hungry games to weigh in.

I am not sure if you should choose the s6. But, I went from the note 4 to S6 to iPhone 6 and final destination is the s6. The s6 has the combination of the form factor, smoothness and customizable for me. The battery on the s6 last a whole day for me, but I don't play game and I use it for conference call at least 4 hours/day + email + fb and surfing throughout the day. Loving the s6. I think it's sexy :)

I don't play graphic-intensive games, just Kingdom Rush Frontiers and Origin, and Future Fight and maybe PvZ 2 and (usually just one)an endless arcade game, although I won't be playing them too much when I'm away home. I mostly will play it if I get bored which is about 30 minutes to an hour or so.

About how many % would be left when you usually arrive home?

Hi there,
I am a long time iphone user converted to android. I love the GS6.
The fingerprint scanner is almost as good as the iphone 6 i used to own. The only thing is the home not being a circle, it is easy to place your finger wrongly. However i feel is faster than the one in the iphone.

I can get a whole day battery. but the stand by time is not as good as the iphone 6.

Since you aren't playing graphically intensive games, rapid charge will get you back up to append quickly. There are some better phones out there for gaming but from an overall device perspective, everyone has those features that they prize most, the GS6 is one of the best smartphones out there, one of its least known is being more future proof especially as features like card slot and replaceable batteries seem to be less often included. The hardware/firmware optimization will keep it highly competitive for the next couple of years.

Well bro to be honest to you .. I'd go with the GS6 because of the Screen and the chip (Eynos)(correct if am wrong about that name of the chip). The screen is really good and it is the best for graphic intensive gaming.. Secondly that chip.... it is very powerful and its like a futuristic one.... it will be really useful in the future. :)
