Should I replace my Blackberry with the Bionic?

I have a Blackberry 9650 which works well but has a slow browser. I want to replace it with one of the Droids...maybe the Bionic or Incredible 2. I am seeing a lot of issues with the Droid Bionic and Droids in general.
I know the batteries are an issue but do these things work. I never have issues with the BB,
Like I mentioned, I want to replace it with a Droid but is it worth what looks to be a hassle.
Thanks

Re: Please help me with this....

I have a storm 2. Hate it.
Got a bionic and love it. Super fast, great device for browsing. My poor wife is stuck using her storm for another month and a half. She's jealous of my new toy. So many bb users have switched. RIM is no longer popular for good reason

Re: Please help me with this....

You'll find issues with any phone in any forum that you go to...that's what forums are for. People have problems and go to forums for help. I was a BB user and switched to Android a year ago. It's different, but it's way better in every aspect and I could NEVER go back. You just have to expect it to not be the same as BB. For example, the calendar is different, but there are 5 or 10 or more calendars you can download and try (most are free). With BB, there is only the one calendar, so you get used to it and then you are mad when an Android calendar is not just like it. If you can't handle change, don't change. If your ok with it, Android does so much more, so much better and so much faster. As to a specific phone, there are many and all are good, but I think the Bionic is the best...duel processor, 4G and a big, beautiful screen. I have the extended battery and after unplugging this morning at 0700 and at 1030 pm, I have 60% left after using it all day.

Definitely would recommend an android. If your specifically wanting a Droid, the bionic is what I would go with. If possible check the device out at a local store and see if the device is to your liking. .I know there are complaints about the screen quality and also some reported speaker issues.

I too cam from a BB 9650 and even though im still adjusting to being new on Android the Bionic BLOWS the new BB away and your can't even compare the 9650 ...MAKE the change and k eep it moving, this phone is awesome and you wont be disappoi
nted.

Re: Please help me with this....

I mean.. you realize you ask the question in the bionic forum you're going to get primarily pro-bionic responses, right?

Anyway just do some research.. read reviews of all the phones your interested in and then go play with them each in the store some, then make up your mind. FWIW since the bionic is brand new, you are going to see lots of little issues with it in the forums as there are with every new phone.. mostly small issues or glitches that will probably be fixed with an update shortly... thats just what happens with brand new tech. The rest are just "issues" that aren't really issues, just things people are adjusting to (or just complaining about) because they need to get used to how this phone works and are shocked it doesn't do exactly like their last phone did (which they did nothing but complain about anyway).

tl;dr - Research a little, go play with them, make informed decision. Good luck!

Re: Please help me with this....

I think the bionic forum is also the best place to get anti-bionic responses.

You'll be happy with either phone but the incredible 2 is committing to 20 months of 3g.

This is part of the reason I went with the Bionic. Really happy with my decision after coming from the original Droid.

Re: Please help me with this....

VZW is selling the Incredible 2 for $149, plus I have a $50 credit. Am I better off with the Incredible 2 or the Bionic which is $325 with the extended battery.

Probaly depends on if you live in an LTE area or not. Just made the switch from the bold to bionic after years of bb use and wow. It's only been a few days but to go back and pick up the bb now just feels old and sad. I'm a heavy work user, need to communicate professionally not just a you and this works great. You'll be glad you made the switch.

I traded in my 9650 for the bionic and have not regretted it yet

In the forums you hear the complainers, what do they expect I dont know, you seldom hear the success story or the happy ends. That said I came from years of Blackberry use, the last was a 9650 with a hell of a slow browser, my answer to you is YES DO IT. This phone rocks and I have yet to try it on 4G when I see it in that Iknow I will be nothing short of amazed. The size of the screen alone is double what you get on the BB.

I was honestly a 4g skeptic, then I got my bionic. Once you go LTE...

My opinion is to stay away from any device made by HTC. They work well, but the battery life on every single HTC Android phone is the worse you'll ever find (I think it's related to the Sense UI). The only way most people get past 6 hours without a dead phone is to turn all the features off that they buy a smart phone for. Motorola seems to have the best battery management out there (I'm getting more than a full day out of mine). Battery life is whats killing BB. The underlying architecture is designed first and foremost to preserve battery life. That's the reason no BB ever made is going to perform like an Android. CEO's that keep BB in business via large corporate purchases don't want to find one of their employees in the field with a dead battery, and they don't want their employees having fun on their cell phone. Because of these large corporate contracts, BB is not going to be driven out of business, but they are also not ever (regardless of how many new OS's they churn out) going to be anything but an email device attached to a cell phone.

You'll love this phone. If you travel for fun or for work, Google Navigation and Google Places makes the change worth it. Everything else you get is gravy.

I went from a Bold 9650 to an Incredible. Took me a while to adjust from the way I did things with BlackBerry, to the way I would do them on Android.
After a few weeks, I was happy I made the switch. I enjoyed my Incredible. I checked out the Incredible 2, but didn't see anything that jumped out at me as to why I would go from the Incredible to the Incredible 2.
After getting the Bionic, it's a big upgrade over my Incredible. I'm sure coming to a Bionic straight from BlackBerry would seem like an even bigger leap.

The only things i miss about mt bb are battery life hot keys and sometimes the wonderful bold keyboard, but those are minor due to how amazing the bionic is. I dont even miss bbm due to none of ny friends using bbs anymore. They all jumped ship for iphones and android phones!

I got a Bionic. Love it. I came from blackberrys. I would recomend it. The enterprise capabilities of the Bionic are fantastic. While some other devices are coming out and going to be nice, the Bionic just had everything i wanted and needed. 9 and 1/2 stars.
