I tried it, still nothing worked. I really appreciate the promp replies and everything bbinder! I'll go talk to the reps at the store tomorrow, but I doubt they'll know anything.
I have Jetpack Joyride to test this theory out and yup, it lags. It lags about every three seconds. Just a slight lag, nothing game changing, but as i play and get further, i could pretty much guess when it would happen. Same thing i noticed about Techno Kitten Adventure on my HTC Rezound, where it would lag a little, but no lag playing these on my girls iPhone 4s. Went back to try Techno Kitten Adventure on HTC One and no noticeable stop lag, like there is in Jetpack. My friend right next to me has a Galaxy S4, and Jetpack Joyride also lags on his phone about every 3 seconds.
My honest opinion, is that your phone is fine. Nothing wrong with it lagging on Jetpack Joyride. It's just the App itself. Apple does a great job at App optimization, because they only have like five platforms to develop for, old iPhone, iPhone with Retina, iPad, iPad with Retina, new A7 chip. Where in Android world, there are thousands of different Android devices. So Developers don't have the time to go through and optimize their apps for each individual phone. The minimum requirements are so low on some of these apps that they do that to reach a greater audience. So Joe Blow with his LG Optimus Dynamic clocking 500mhz processor can play Jetpack Joyride. I love Jetpack Joyride, it plays smooth on an Ipad, but it's not yet updated on Android to take advantage of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
I play a lot of Angry Birds with Friends, buttery smooth. I haven't tried other Angry Birds, but i bet at least one of them, either Space, Rio, Two, Star wars, Seasons, probably lags. Also I play Bad Piggies and it doesn't lag. Super Stickman Golf 2 (slight lag), Bike Race, Ice Rage, no lag.
Never tried Gravity Guy but I downloaded it and I too see the low fps performance on my HTC One as well.
Now download a game called Play Tennis by Clapfoot. It is optimized to run 60fps on most android devices. It runs buttery smooth on the HTC One. If it doesn't run smooth on your One, then your One has a problem.
I just tried going into Developer Options, and Advanced, and forcing GPU Rendering, and then trying Jetpack Joyride that way, and it still lags.
So if the only thing wrong with your HTC One is that it lags when playing Jetpack Joyride, everything will be fine. But if you want a phone specifically to play these types of 2D games on them, then get an iPhone 5.
