Should I sell this thing myself or just trade it in?

Ok. Upgraded from my V10 to a S8+. Here's the deal. Trading in to Tmobile gets me about 60 bucks. Selling it myself I look to get 150 to 170. Only problem. As people might have seen in this forum, my V10 suffers from mysterious battery drain and GPS never turning off. Along with random weird glitches. Now, the device have never turned itself off and it's not bootlooping but from what I've read my issues are possible precursors. If I sell it on eBay or swappa, the new owner might encounter issues, might want refund etc. I'd rather just sell device and wash my hands of it. Trading it in does this but I get less money. Any advice?

Sell as-is, IMO.

I would just trade it in. I wouldn't sell the V10 as great a phone as it was to anyone solely on the fact that the bootloop issue is just far too widespread and common. Don't set someone else up for that type of disappointment.

I'm thinking of selling at it as is on eBay. Even bad V10 phones with a bad esn tend to sell for 100 to 130 on eBay. That's still better than trade in by far.

I also got an S8. I'm just going to keep my V10 as a backup in case either the GF or I ever need a backup phone. It's a great phone in certain regards, but is worth nothing on trade and I don't see anyone buying it for enough to make it worth it to sell. I'll just keep it as a spare.

Sounds like anyone who uses a S8 without a case should keep a backup phone handy.

Selling for 140 or 130 will go far to pay off what's left on my V10, so I have to sell it. Got a caseology coastline for S8 plus.
