Should I update to 5.0.2 Lollipop or stay on 4.4.2 Kitkat?

I used to have the Wi-Fi G Pad 7.0 8GB but sold it and bought the AT&T G Pad 7.0 16GB. The tablet I had now is running Kitkat and it seems to be faster than my old G Pad which was on Lollipop. The only thing that I don't like about the Kitkat version is that there is no brightness adjustment shortcut on the notification bar. Also the home buttons can't be customized and it looks old. However, the software feels a bit faster for some reason on Kitkat. Should I update the tablet or just stay on Kitkat (according to your experience).
