Should I use a launcher on the S7?

After playing with teh S7 edge in Best Buy today, i would definitely use Nova or Google launcher. It's like a kids device with touchwiz widgets lol

Yeah, those widgets are an acquired taste that's for sure. Luckily, easily fixed though. Takes less than a couple of minutes to add Nova and a Samsung theme.

I personally use Action Launcher 3. I used Nova for a while, but I really enjoy the color-theming aspect of Action Launcher and the ability to create Covers for folders.

Yes on certain variants through Galaxy labs.

Galaxy Labs is almost guaranteed to be disabled here in the US, at least on VZW which I have. Not sure why but that's just a sad fact. I have purchased Action and Nova launchers and wonder why they don't offer the option to get rid of the app drawer. It seems like they can do everything else, why not that?

You can get rid of the app drawer on Nova. Just long press it and select remove.

Of course but then how do you get to all your apps? Unless you are suggesting I move them all manually. Seems like it would be a nice feature to have without having to move them all one by one.

Nova is fabulous. I believe the paid version is on sale now for $1 or $2 in Playstore.

For me the single best feature is the ability to open the notification blind by pulling down anywhere on screen. Awesome for one handed use.

I understand how fabulous it is but right now it does not have the one feature I am looking for.

I would just put what I need on the screen. Everything else, you can set a gesture to access the app drawer for the rare occasions that you need it.

Of course if you are looking to put all apps on the home screen automatically, then no it doesn't do that.

It's what you like really. I find the later version of TouchWiz better than the versions found on older devices such as S5 and older. It's a lot more toned down, less bloatware unless you're with a carrier like AT&T (I always purchase a device from Amazon and not in store to avoid bloatware and horrible branding) and it has less gimmicky features.

So to top it off, TouchWiz from the Note 4 onwards is good and TouchWiz from S5 or older is horrible. :)

Action Launcher 3.x has been my Launcher for as long as it has been. I bought AL2 pro and upgraded to AL3 when C. Lacey published it. I have the paid version, and have donated to his efforts !! Support your developers too, folks 👍👍

Tried the new TouchWiz for a while. It's ok. But I still want certain features from Nova to achieve a certain look on the phone.

Also check out good lock from the Samsung app store. Works with different launchers as well

Love for all things android and IT

Nova - Once you try gestures, you will never use your phone the same way. Plus you can load two apps with one icon, literally design your homes screen exactly the way you want it and so much more.
