Should I worry about battery degradation in the New Moto X?

I've never been able to bring myself to buy a phone with a non-removable battery. My fear is that a year or so down the line, the battery will begin to lose capacity and eventually have to be replaced. I can't end up in a situation without a phone for a couple weeks while mine is sent in for a new battery.

I have friends that have the same concern with devices that have non-removable batteries. Ultimately it's still on you... your message says you own an S3. If you are still using the stock battery, that might be a big indication of if you can do it or not. If you have replaced your battery, then you might want to just go with the S5... just my opinion on what information you have provided.

There is quite a bit of info on phone battery life. They are all designed to last a minimum of two years at which time they still should have 80% capacity. I am still running the original battery in my Note 2 and it is now starting to showing some degradation.
I have a four year old iPhone 4 that is still chugging along. The average cost to to have a shop replace a phone battery is $50. Granted for another two year contract, most phones are $99. The true reality is very few people keep there phones beyond two years, software upgrades slow down the older phones. Phones take a lot of abuse and beyond the better faster phones coming alone, most phones are pretty beat up after two years, so on that note, the battery is not a big issue.

Mobile phone batteries are usually certified to retain at least 85% of their original power after 600 charge cycles (aka about 2 years of daily charging).
