It's a standoff.. Buddy was watching the neighbor's cats very intently Monday. This was after slowly moving forward, sitting down, before finally laying down. Have to look closely to find them both.

Backup phone still kicking. Battery health down to 83% tho. :(

For all of you stargazers, the comet will be around the rest of this week. I live in the suburbs of a big city and have trees all around my house, so I didn't think I would be able to see it.

Nonetheless, I went out about an hour after sunset and started looking. I couldn't see it with the naked eye but I had heard that your phone camera can sometimes see things that we otherwise can't. I started taking pics in the general area of where I thought the comet might be and I found it.

If you want to see it, look in the western sky, about 30-60 minutes after sunset. This pic was taken with my S21Ultra, no special settings or anything, just had to hold my phone very still. Don't miss the opportunity. They say this one will not be back for another 80,000 years.

Went to the playground recently with my son. I gotta say, for a device that came out in 2021, I don't really know how IMO that you can get much better than the camera on the S21 Ultra.

I'd argue that the camera on the S21U is easily the best I've ever used personally on a smartphone. As someone who alternates back and forth between the Note 20U and S21U though, I have to say, in most scenarios the S21U is better. The Note 20U seems to be better at capturing more deal up close or in macro mode type situations. For just regular shots or video recording, I generally reach for my S21U.

A few shots from Worlds of Fun a few weeks ago, the last weekend of the season. The fall colors were in full effect. This sweet gum was much brighter than mine was most years (we finally had that evil thing cut down this year).

Also V22 flyover is in my top 3 favorite flyovers of all time. The closest one is in VTOL mode, and flew over first, followed by the two in airplane configuration which passed it overhead. Very cool.

I love that vintage Bug.

What's a V22? Who makes it, and who uses it?

I can't remember offhand who made the V22 Osprey. Will look. Edit: Bell, now Boeing. It had a long troubled development. The Marines are still using them, not sure if anyone else is (Wikipedia says Navy and Air Force too, plus Japan. Anyway the giant rotors are on tilting pods (better word for that thing). The rotors are so large they can only take off with them tilted up.

It looks like a giant drone.
