Show us your S22 cases!

Anyone tried out both the Otterbox Defender and the UAG Monarch? I'm trying to decide on a rugged case I already have the monarch and paid a good price for it but I'm curious about the OtterBox. Which one is slimmer?

Idk about the uag monarch , but the OtterBox defender is not slim. The slimmest to me in the OtterBox family has always been the Commuter or Symmetry cases.

My new favorite clear case ...hands down. May be my favorite case, period. If you want a clear case for your S22 Ultra, and opt out of a screen protector, I recommend this case...over the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. I don't know how well it resists yellowing, but it's protective. I have a screen protector, ONLY because I have leather cases that aren't substantial enough to protect against much of anything.

Case-Mate Pelican Ranger (the 15' drop one) is a fail in my book. I thought it'd be great for my mom's (green) to show off the color and give solid protection, but she may now get an OtterBox because this is going back. For this level of thickness/heft, there's no reason not to add more to protect the front.
+ Thick, protective back
+ Excellent camera protection (large opening but plenty of raisivity)
- Not so comfortable in the hand
- Super thin forehead/chin protection, barely there sides.
Less protection for the front than Ringke Fusion and CaseBourne (reviews coming) yet much pricier and chunkier of a case. 20220306_120047.jpg

CaseBourne R series black (clear case, black bumper) and Aramid Fiber are total wins, I plan to get the iridescent for my white phone and the other fully clear case they offer to compare.
+ Impressive chin/forehead and side protection
+ Comfortable to hold
+ Extra raised bumps on the corners, front and back, keeps the profile slim white still protecting the cameras and screen more than similar cases I've tried
+ Aramid Fiber has a soft touch feel that feels good and adds more grip
- "P" cutout on cameras isn't as sharp looking as precision cutouts, but admittedly common for the S22 Ultra
- Aramid Fiber version concealed the s pen a bit more, works with a bit of fingernail
- Clear is glossy, which is purely preference (shows off the color better but I do love a matte finish for fewer fingerprints and to mirror the way the phone is matte this year)
I gave the clear to my mom for now, the protection is superior to all other cases I've tried so far despite being what I'd consider "normal" (not a brick). Although this isn't the toughest case they make, both look really good and protective. The Ringke Fusion matte was my go-to for the Note 20 Ultra so I bought one for my S22 Ultra immediately, but it's more flimsy (bends away from the frame easily) and the corners on CaseBourne give more protection.20220306_115505.jpg20220306_120014.jpg20220306_120239.jpg20220306_115626.jpg

The Monarch is definitely thinner than the Defender Pro. Defender Pro has the best grip.
Two completely different animals. I'll try to get some side by side pictures later today when I get back home.

Folks definitely some good pics and information here with the cases well done my friends.. I'm debating if I want to pick up a slim aramid type case.. my cases are not thick at all I don't like them thick I've only been using the Ringke matte clear which I love the feel in hand and no fingerprint smudges plus shows off color

One more thing to add to this - looking at reviews on the ESR Camera protectors (which I bought but probably will return without installing) is they fog up with temperature changes. This exact same thing happens with screw-on lens filters on traditional cameras when you walk from a cold area to warm area, for example. So it appears the lens protectors are not making a proper seal with the camera lens itself, and the last thing you want is moisture trapped between the protector and the lens. There was another review stating they damaged their phone trying to peel them off.

I guess at the end of the day, most phones these days have large camera arrays, and most people just use normal cases without any dedicated camera protection - you don't read about many people damaging their camera lanses. With the right case, they are pretty far recessed anyway, so even in your pocket or whatever, there will be little to no contact.

I can't seem to find exactly what Samsung uses on the front of their lenses, but I assume it's the same Gorilla Glass Victus as the rest of the phone (I would like to confirm).

I agree with cheap lens glass over phone cameras no go, taking any glass including camera lenses from cold to hot warm Temps usually causes condensation on the glass. It's as predictable as streaks on film if shooting at a high rate in sub-zero weather. (That's showing my age.):-!

Should've taken the photo but now it's on. Black s22 ultra 128Gb with black Otterbox defender

Caseborne R in blue.

Unflattering photos, but just dropped it on the phone to see if it fits with the lens protectors and it does.

Corner and lip protection - especially on the front - is significantly better than what you would find on the Ringkes or the Spigen UH.

This is going to replace my Ringke Onyx for now until I find something better. I don't trust any of the drop ratings but this should withstand a drop better than the Onyx.

You got the ESR camera protectors on there?

I'm wondering if the ESR protectors actually touch the back of the phone at the base or stop short of hitting the back?

Yeah, they're on there. The protectors fall short of touching the back phone glass/base. You can actually see a bit of the silver rim of the metal camera housing if you were to look really close.

That's good news. I was worried about them scratching the back of the phone around the camera housing base.

This is the ESR Metal Kickstand Case in clear.

I first bought the Speck Ombre with clear / burgundy but returned it because it was WAY too slippery! At least it was easy to put on and remove. I then tried the Otterbox Symmetry in clear but couldn't even get it on the dang phone! Returned it too. This ESR is great looking and feels good in the hand. Not too slippery and the kickstand feature will come in handy! My backup is a smoky Tech21 Evo Check which feels good and also easy to R&R. Both have good drop protection.

I like the look from the back with this ESR to see the white phone but I also love the front with the smoky Evo Check because it blends into the black screen when it's off. Both are great cases!!

That is CLEAN !

I think Samsung makes one similar but the kickstand isn't as wide side to side and I thought it would wobble when on its back trying to use the phone. This one made more sense to me.
