Shutter Sound On/Off

I can tell you as of right now there is nothing that will work to shut off the shutter sound. You have to root your phone or use a camera app that has the shutter sound option. And not all of the camera apps that have the option will work. I contacted the makers of silentsnap and they are aware of the problem with the GS3. It might work with some carriers, but it won't work with Sprint. I've spent a lot of time looking for something that will work good without root. So far no luck.

I can now confirm that the AT&T model indeed has the ability to turn the shutter sound on and off. It's one of the rare times where an AT&T Model can do something software wise that the Sprint model can't. I wonder if the other carriers models have it or not.

Download Silent mode widget by Jason Hull from play store. It's free and when you silence your phone it also silences your camera sutter without rooting.

Does not work for the GS3. Like I said before, looks like the only way to go is root it.

Sorry. You are correct. You will not get rid of the sounds without root. Period. Not possible because they are in the system files. No app without root access can touch them. That's why so many apps require you to be rooted some apps need system access to work.

Wtf?! I'm shocked and clearly naive that such laws exist. Anyone know a little case history about how this came to be?
Why aren't socks required to have an alarm chip to alert when they are being removed? Just in case you plan to strangle someone nearby.

Well that sucks.. Thanks for confirming it. I've looked everyone on the S3 and couldn't find anything.
