Shutter sound

I have no shutter sound no matter how much I tinker with the settings. Help.

Which settings have you gone in? Camera>Settings>Camera sounds(toggle on or off).

Okay, so I'm older than most threes and hard of hearing but if I'm in a totally quiet environment I can barely hear the shutter "click". I can see the "blink" but outside taking pictures I hear nothing.

I'm having difficulty getting into Safe mode. I'm obviously not pressing the correct sequence of characters. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok. Just wanted to eliminate that

See attached screenshots - ignore differences in the pictures since I'm running the Android Q Beta - the basic steps are the same:
1. Press-and-hold the Power button until you see the menu of options
2. Press-and-hold the Power option until you see the prompt to restart in Safe mode
3. Select OK
Note: after the phone restarts you'll see SAFE MODE in the lower left corner of the screen until you restart to get out of Safe mode. No 3rd party applications will run in Safe mode.

We ARE trying to help. Did you check the sound setting in the camera app? You havent said yes or no yet.

I've checked all of the settings I could find. I've reset the camera and all the sound settings. I've rebooted, and reinstalled the camera app. Nothing works.
