Ok so i have been using a rooted and custom rom'd phone now for about 6 months, and i am tired of it. So here is what i am going to do, i am going to roll to stock, get all updated to the newest verizon updates, then root and just remove all the bloatware crap off my phone.
My only thing is i am not very good at the whole mounting the phone and getting to the root and moving and deleting these apk's. Are there any good instructions out there that can help, and for a mac. Once i get them i will post my experience with how it went.. Thanks in advance..

You can start by removing your signature
Yeah Yeah.. i will fix it tonight...

Now about this... i have gotten my phone connected to my computer and i am in adb shell and when i try to delete or rename a .apk... any of them... i get an error that states that they are all Read Only... what am I doing wrong... do i need to be in bootloader or something... ps i am on a mac.. Thanks..

Edit** So I got it.. I booted into recovery and then mounted the \system and then adb shell gave me access... Piece of Cake now.. Seems to be running pretty good now.. I noticed a difference already..

Last Question.. Does anyone know if i can remover HTCFootprints.apk I want to trim this down as much as possible or Peep?

In root explore on the top right swtich it from r/o. R/o only comes out where it can only delete files

I have footprints and peep disabled on mine with no problems.

FYI if you want to get future OTA's you will want to just rename the .apk's rather then delete them, then you can restore them easily by just looking for a .bak extension or something like that. So far the OTA's have had issues with Stock loads that have items deleted.

Just a heads up if you were not already aware.

I was not aware.. i have deleted a few of them, but most of them i have just renamed to .old and seems to be going okay..

now what about the files with more than just the .apk files attached.. do i just need to rename the .old?

Ok, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but aren't the stock roms out there for download? Can't you just wipe, then download the stock rom? Use titanium to delete the apps you don't want and restore what you want to keep?

That is pretty much what i am doing.. Just removing what i don;t want and making it run better...

Just ran Quadrant and got a 1209.. and still have some apps to remove and I want to swap kernals.

Any Suggestions for a kernal to use for a Sense Rom?

All installed and running well.. oc to 1.075 ghz and quadrant scores in the 1300's.

So far what I wanted to do is working perfectly. Love it..
