Where is the option for side key panel on the note 5? It used to be under One handed operation on the Note 4. But I don't see it anywhere on the Note 5. Please help, I love this feature on the Note 4.

Another deal breaker for me! It seems as if they removed the side key panel and the gesture to shrink window screen size also.

Settings - accessibility - dexterity and interaction - assistant menu

Was that what you were looking for?

No! The assistant menu is much too big and uncomfortable to use.
Unfortunately that's all I could find. Hopefully someone else can find it.

Something to consider, There are some pie apps that might work for you.

Is the Note 5 running a special version of Lollipop? I hope this is not a change due to 5.1.1.

You can add couple of file and couple of lines in settings db but u would need root for that. Sometimes don't know why Samsung would remove features when then there is no negative feedback for it.

I watched a video for the note 5 and it's a triple tap of the home button to reduce screen size. But I think you still have to enable it somewhere. These features are definitely without a doubt on the note 5 because I watched in a review video. Can't remember which but I will post if I find.

Yep, I know. Problem is: I don't want to tap the home button thousand times a day in order to switch modes. Although not perfect, the gesture on the Note 4 was much more comfortable.

If you're looking for the soft keys that pop up on the side, I use pie control from the play store.

It's not really that much of a difference. The N4 you swished side to side, on the N5 you press the home key 3x.

It all depends how often you use this feature. On the note 4 I switched back and forth between these modes all the time. Sometimes left, sometimes right. With a triple tap on the home button the Note 5 doesn't even recognize the side you prefer. So you have to tap on the screen once again in order to change sides. Apart from that there are no on screen navigation keys available when using the shrinked window screen mode on the Note 5. Not that comfortable.

On the Note 5 you'll find the split screen option which gives you same apps to choose. Just hold the window (botton on the left). If you don't see the app you need, you just have to go to the app you want first open it and then hold it for 2 secs and get it ready on a small window, just like as it used to be shown on the Note 4. Difference is now you can actually shrink any app you desire which wasn't available on the previous model. In another hand I also want to make clear that Note 5 is smaller in every dimension, except for the screen which remains to be 5.7" same like Note 4 but way better resolution, and the pen is still same size too, which now has the pop up feature and it's new choices on the S Pen options.

I just wanted to be clear that I'm not 100% sure what side key panel was. But to shrink the window and make apps split screen, you have to turn them into pop up windows. You just touch the top right corner of the screen and swipe towards the center. Try it on messages or whatsapp. Works on Google Chrome and other apps also.

It was a pop-out shortcut launcher and one of the options was one-handed mode. I miss it too but not like OMG! miss it. The fact so few here know what it is kind of supports Samsung putting it on their debloat list.
