Ok has anyone tried the TV Out function? I had a 3.5m jack out to TV from my EPic 4G I could never use because they would not enable it and now the sidekick has the feature and I want to use it however I dont understand the settings and when I tried it with the cord it didnt work....any one >

I have no idea how that will work. Only way I see is if they make a usb cable to connect to a TV. But I never heard of those. I thought it was wicked when I saw it in the options, lol.

Its nice alright.....if we can figure out how to use it...I wonder if we get a lot of developer support for it and will we see 2.3?

I had an incredible it took htc forever to telease the cable for it. It just pluggen in usb port rca connections to tv actuall the picture was awesome. There were aftermarket cables made before htc so go to amazon type the type of usb connector for the charge port + rca out

Micro usb to hdmi def won't work sidekick 4 for one as far as I know. I have a droid x that uses micro hdmi for tv out and it is limited it won't even let you watch you tube in tv out my incredible uses the micro usb to rca. There is 4 different tv settings for it. I use it on a tube tv in ntsc. samsung said its a 3 channel 3.5mm to rca it will only work if your tv tuner supports pal or ntsc

I found this at Samsung support :

Hi ******! Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your concern, upon checking the specifications and settings on the T-Mobile? Sidekick? 4G Android Smartphone (SGH-T839), the phone does not support a direct TV-out capability found on other handsets to playback media or documents. However, if your television or monitor is DLNA-enabled television and you have a Wi-Fi network or Home-based station at your home for Wi-Fi connection, you can playback media files saved on the SGH-T839 handset on your television using Allshare application. Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. We appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

So, no, I guess?

Correct. Even though there is a clear TV-OUT menu selection in Settings, it actually serves no purpose and does not work.
