Sideloaded apps displaying tablet layout - force Android TV layout?

As indicated in the title, I have several apps that I've sideloaded on my Fire TV 4k that are nearly unusable because they're displaying a mobile (phone or tablet) interface instead of using the Android TV layout. I've been told that some apps don't have an Android TV interface, but I'm pretty sure that at least one or two of the apps I'm testing should.

Is the any way to force an Android TV layout instead of a tablet one?
