On my wife's G2 (VS980) after she got upgraded to 5.0.2 she keeps getting the sign into wi-fi network area in the picture I've attached. She was not getting this message before the upgrade to 5.0.2. even when we select dont sign in it still signs into the home network. This happens everywhere not just the home wifi. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Another issue she is having is when she goes to work she has to log into the wifi each time which she did not need to do before. I'm going to try and "forget" the wifi and see if that fixes this.

Welcome to Android Central! That's strange--so it's asking you to sign in for every wi-fi network, even if it's an open public network? I agree with your plan--I would actually forget all saved wi-fi networks, then try connecting again with your usual networks.

Yeah sorry to say that did not work...she says she is still getting the pop-up all the time...i'm at a loss...the only other thing i can think of is to reset the phone to its original state before the update and see what happens.

Go to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced. Are there any options there that sound like they could be responsible?

the only thing i see is the Wi-Fi notifications and allow Wi-Fi scanning. Maybe that will stop it. Like i said earlier it still auto logs into the home network so i dont think the notifications and scanning is needed. Ill give that a shot and see what happens.

Yup...i tried all that and it still does it. the only other thing i can think of is it might have something do to with the browser...but i think that's a long shot at this point.

It sounds like 5.0.2 for the G2 has been plagued by a host of bugs, including some related to wi-fi. This is probably another one. You could go to your nearest Verizon store, show them the problem, and ask them when Verizon plans on correcting the issue, since it's due to an update they pushed.

One other thing to try is Safe Mode, to see if the problem might be related to a 3rd party app: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11127

The next day she has off she is going to go to the Verizon store and see what she can get out of them.

The funny thing is I got a notification saying there is an update to Lollipop...I was given the option to deny and I took it LOL.

My husband and I have the same issue with that popping up EVERY TIME we are in a location with wifi. It is very annoying. If your wife gets any answers I would love to hear what they are. My husband updated his system before I did and wish I had refused to do so. HATING the new look and all the bugs!

Yeah i will. I dont know when we will get a chance to make it to the Verizon store. I'm thinking of doing a re-set. Now it wont keep the proper time. She is telling me that the time is changing plus or minus an hour throughout the day. I was on ATT with a Samsung Note 2 and never had a problem. We switched to Verizon thee months ago and went will LG phones and have had nothing but issues since the updates. Ahhhh the glory that is technology...LOL.

Decided to do a hard re-set. So far no issues...Ill keep you all updated on the progress. Tomorrow when the wife goes to work will be the real test.

So it looks like the re-set did not fix the problem. I guess its off to the Verizon store when she gets a free moment.
