Signal Reporting weirdness

So I've had my S3 for a few days now, and have noticed some weirdness in the battery graph.

In the graph it shows stretches where the phone is reporting having no signal, which is the black gaps. But when I go into the actual cell sign usage menu, it does not show any time without a signal. Its very odd.

Countless threads on this, but cell standby is reporting incorrectly (about 10x higher than it should be). Doesn't have a negative impact on actual battery life though.

That didn't actually have anything to do with my question. If the phone was experiencing the drops in connectivity, it should be showing in cell standby as time without a signal.

Possible that it's not long enough to actually change the % without signal. Or maybe there's a bug in that too, here's a similar thread in the main GSIII section http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii/192136-how-read-battery-graph.html
