signal strength very weak from past mobile

Im using a s4 sgh m919 and my phone gets very les signals and i mean it very less when at home one bar less from full and when i leave my appartment and go down for just a walk no bars atall and i then need to manually search and connect the mobile network i used a moto g previously and the bars were perfect in 2g and 3g no matter where id go so i know its not the sim card thats cauzing th problwem

Motorola's have been known for their antenna and radio technology. Have you tried any other Samsung phones to make sure it is not just your phone having the issue?

Or have the phone checked out by your carrier. The antenna connection could have come loose.
