significant delays receiving messages

I am new to S10+ so still learning things. Recently I am noticing a delay receiving both emails and text messages. If I don't physically pick up my phone and open it, I don't receive new emails. Same with text messages - I have to open the app and boom - I see texts from several hours before that never got delivered to me until I opened the app. Why? I never had this issue on my previous Android - my KeyOne. What can I do to fix this issue? I don't want to be living on my phone constantly. I want to look at it many times just when I have something new to see.

Hi, look at your power modes , is it on medium, or adaptive toggled on ? Look in device care are those apps put to sleep

Hi. Thanks for weighing in. I am not totally following. Under Device Care and then Power Mode, mine is at Medium and the Adaptive Power Saving is off. But where do I find the other screens you added? Do I need to change to High instead of at Medium?

Oh, Adaptive Battery is on and also Put unused apps to sleep is On
