I currently have the Palm Treo 800W and it has a handy switch on it that silences the phone completely. No ringer, no alerts, etc. It's nice because I can just look at it an know it's silenced.
I'm getting the HTC Evo next month and I've looked at a lot of forums and haven't seen a clear answer to how this works on an Android device. It appears you just keep pushing the volume down switch over and over to turn off the ringer. Unclear if this totally silences the device. I'd assume that on the screen you'd see some indicator of volume level.
Is there a standard method for Android to silence it quickly and easily?
Thanks,
