I need it. Has anyone heard if Google is going to bring it back? Also, how can I turn off the vibration when texting. Someone in a different thread comment how loud it was and they're right.

I'm not sure about the silent mode either. I am trying to figure that part out. The vibration while typing is something I have figured out how to remove. Go to settings, sound & notification, other sounds, and then turn off vibrate on touch.

There is not really a silent mode... When you turn the volume all the way down to vibrate you can click on none and then pick how long you don't want to be disturbed.... Priority mode means you can set the same do not disturb except for very important people to ring through regardless.. None means no one gets through period..... or you just go to vibrate only......

There are two ways to enable silent mode, as far as I know.

One is to set interruptions to Priority and unchecked all available notifications. The other is to lower the volume to vibrate and press the 'silence' icon.

Worked for me, anyway! :-)
