So first night with my G4... Coming from a HTC M7.

Umm, how do i silence my phone??? Its either vibrate or really quiet.

I want silent, but still wanna set an alarm, get LED notifications...

I think settings for volume has changed with lollipop. Toggle the volume rocker. I think it is All-priority-silent and I have to assume the alarm will still sound on silent

Yes, big improvement from Lollipop 5.0x to 5.1x. The settings are more intuitive imo.

I have tried this and I can't seem to get the phone to be in just silent mode (no vibrate, no sound).

Go to settings>Sound>Interruptions>Calls android Notifications

Select Priority (silences everything except the alarm). This puts a star in your notification window to show it's active.

Now if I could adjust the alarm volume I would be very happy:D

I had the same quandary. when you're in a particular alarm, scroll down and several more settings will come into view, including a volume control for that alarm. Each alarm has an independent alarm control. There is also a Puzzle lock setting where you have to "solve a puzzle" to stop the alarm (you can snooze it the normal way, but to full shut it off you have to press a series of numbers in either ascending or descending order. It's basically a way to make sure you're awake (as opposed to just turning the alarm off accidentally and falling back asleep).
