Silicon li-Ion Battery tech speculation

Hey guys! Some of you might have heard of a new tech for batteries that allows for faster charging, and can hold 3x the charge within the same space as today's batteries for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets which would be awesome! I was wondering if anybody has heard or knows of a general date which this tech will be released for smartphones because every website I've looked has gave a totally different answer then the last
