So I've been thinking of cutting the cord for a while, and saw this on Newegg this morning:
Newegg.com - Simple.TV STV2-2US Power by SiliconDust The Ultimate Network Dual Tuner & DVR Records Free-to-Air HDTV & Streams to All your Favorite Devices Anywhere in Anytime
It's a SiliconDust DVR, looks pretty similar to their HDHomeRun product (basically a TV tuner that sits on your network rather than plugging directly into a PC). Except this one is a DVR, which is pretty awesome, and it lists Chromecast as a device it can stream to. Interesting, because I had thought there were no devices that were confirmed for Chromecast streaming, just internet services.

Yes, although it wouldn't surprise me if they introduce a CableCARD model. It would be pretty disappointing if this was just tab casting IMO. That doesn't feel like support at all, and in my limited experience tab casting doesn't work particularly well.

Since its release date is not until Dec 12, they have a bit of time yet to make it work.
