SIM card cuttings?

I bought a HTC VX, I unlocked it and rooted it. She has been using it without a SIM card.....for games mainly. But now she wants to switch over to use it. The other phone is a Galaxy S, with the full size SIM card. I've seen cutters for this, is it possible to cut it to fix.in the HTC micro SIM card holder. Galaxy is only a 3G phone, will that be a issue also.

Just to let it be known, it will work. I cut a sim out of a galaxy S, 3G and cut down to micro SIM and put it in a HTC vx, and it worked, and it's getting 4G.
