Well my phone is back to its usual thing of doing no SIM card error. For a couple of weeks it was doing great and then on Sunday my phone started doing the no SIM card issue. Sometimes it will fix it self which it never did prior to update. Has anyone else experienced any issues since the update?

Oddly mine acted up on Sunday as well. PUK lock, preparing SIM, no SIM detected errors all day long. Happened probably 6 times on Sunday 5/5. Reboots always cleared it. Other then this issue I love this phone. I wish HTC/Verizon would get their act together.

Yes, what seems to help me, is to remove the sim card and re-insert it.

Yep. I also cleaned the contacts, used canned air to blow out any debris, put Scotch tape on back of SIM, yet the problems randomly and sporadicly return. Replacing SIM card didn't help me either. I don't want a refurbished unit so I'll hang on in hopes they might acutally fix it.

Here's hoping!

Yes. It started happening to me a couple weeks back. Much less frequent but just as irritating. Especially since I thought it was done with. I have noticed it sometimes fixes itself without a reboot.

Well at least I'm not the only one still having issues. Thanks for the replies.

Even after the recent update, I continued to experience the SIM card issue... I even began logging every instance..

At 1120hrs, 04-22-13, I broke down & applied 2 layers of clear scotch tape to the back of the SIM card and cleaned the contacts with 91% alcohol. Not a single issue since.

Worked for me, just like many others.

Getting the SIM replaced worked for me... I was having the issue multiple times per day, and now I haven't had it for the past month and a half. I do occasionally get a "preparing sim" message, but that doesn't really make the signal disappear.

I think I've been rather lucky with not having this issue very frequently.

Can you tell me how scotch tape would help? I've noticed that my simcard has scratches on it when I removed it.

I experienced this issue again yesterday 4 times. I had my DNA replaced in January and had not seen any SIM issues since then. It is rather odd that a whole bunch of us started seeing this again in the last few days. The only way to workaround the problem was to remove/reseat the SIM card. I called Verizon and HTC is requiring them to replace the phone again with the last update pre-installed. I know that it is not going to make a difference, but the replacement phone is on its' way today. This will be my 3rd hardware replacement and I have gone through 5 SIM cards. I am going to demand that they replace this with a different model if it continues to occur.

Nitestorm,

I read on these forums that scotch tape on the back might "tighten" the fit of the SIM card in it's slot. I don't know how true this is but error free for a week now when before it was daily. :D

I happened to have a PUC lock on this 2nd simcard I'm using but when I tried this method, it cleared the simcard lock and my phone is working fine again with data connection. Thanks alot! This saved me time & hassle to get another simcard.

I've had tape on both of ours for a month. No relapses since.

The OTA worked for me. I haven't had any SIM card issues since, but the Wi-Fi is another story...

Bought two DNA's in January for my Boyfriend and myself. After two months of no problems, have had problems ever since. I've had it completely reset, received a new SIM card and still have the same SIM problems. When i went to Verizon, nobody knew it was an issue. SERIOUSLY? I was told that since Verizon let all their techs go he would do what he can, which was changing my roaming. Ridiculous. After dropped and missed calls over the weekend, I'm getting a new phone tomorrow. My boyfriends phone is starting to have the same issues, but Verizon says they have to do all the reset and new SIM first, then they will give him a new one...will let you know how it works out. No Maybe about it...Definately a problem!

Well crap wish I wouldn't have opened this thread now I'm doubting about picking it up once again, even tho its free! :/
