I'm wondering if because I purchased an unlocked 20, and just inserted my old card from my 10+, if there is something going on with my sim card.

I haven't been able to get auto restart to work, and going through everything, I tried to enter the pin to change the state(I never locked it on my 10+), but it is saying the pin may be wrong and it cannot change the status.

Now I'm wondering if I need another sim?

Your Sim might have a default pin code from the carrier, here we get pin and puk codes in the sim packs

thanks for the reply..

I got it unlocked by the provider but they told me that I actually do need a new sim. So I'm headed there in a little bit

Maybe the service is cancelled for the old sim card ? You have a new one in your Note 20 ?

It was weird. when I called them the second time, I got the old sim unlocked. but the couple reps I spoke to, said the phone would not operate optimally, so I would need to grab a sim.

well, so yes, I do have the new one in the 20

But was the old sim still active?

oh yes, it was. And I believe it's still is active. It's just back in the note 10. I figured I'd post this, as you and many others(including myself) have wondered about the whole 5g sim card thing.

I was also told(conflicting stories here), at the store, after he gave me the sim card(because I specifically asked), that it will just pick up 5g on its own, when in range. And that I, at this point, because it's not widespread, I don't need a 5g plan. But, the person on the phone that actually activated the card asked me if I wanted to enrol in a 5g plan(I tend to side on the in store reps knowledge a tinge, if any of them).

So I'll see tomorrow as I'll be downtown, and I know they have 5g antenna at the corner of my building.

Which carrier you have ?
I'm on T-Mobile for my Note 20U , I get 5g pretty much everywhere I'm at , even had the T-Mobile R15 sim card for SA 5g , I see no difference at this time from LTE.

I have Verizon. And that's the goofy thing because I have hex, the icon only shows 4g. I did a test yesterday, and I was only getting 4g.

Verizon I hear is only in certain areas with its 5G
yeah, that's pretty much what the guy that gave me the sim card was saying. Which made it even more weird that the girl was asking me if I wanted a 5g package. I think I even slipped and said "for what, it's not in my area" before I could catch myself. lol

Lol..yeah it's just not fully main stream yet

You know, I was quite shocked with Sprint/T-Mobile over the weekend.

I had to drive from Southern Utah to Dallas and back this weekend and the amount of area where I had 5G icon shocked me.

I stopped in a little town (Gallup, NM) and had blazing 5G there. As I was driving along I-40, every town I came across, I seemed to have 5G there. In between, I mostly had LTE, but I saw 5G WAY more than I thought I would!

Now, if they could only get normal cell service when I am in the desert mountains, I would be happier. :D
