Why cant i get a prepaid AT&T sim card to work in my unlocked nexus ?

it just shows no signal but the donor phone works fine its like the sim is blocked from working in another phone ? but i thought it would at least have a signal maybe no data but at least be able to text anybody have any ideas ?

You may be right, it probably is locked to at&t prepaid phones. You can try straight talk, or simple mobile

yeah but i see on the website where you can get the captivate on prepaid so im gonna check it out tommorow .
