Sim card

So I bit the bullet and just ordered a 6P. My question is I'm currently using Nexus 5, are the sim cards the same or do I need a new one? I'm on T-mobile .

N5 = micro sim
N6p = nano sim

Yup need a new one.

Unfortunately not. the N5 had a microsim and N6P has a nano sim.

I wouldn't recommend this, but there are articles on how to put a Micro sim into a nano sim tray. How to Convert a Micro SIM Card to Fit the Nano Slot on Your HTC One M8 « HTC One

However, if you request a SIM from T-Mobile, I would guess they would send you one or if you want one right away, go to a store. On AT&T, they sent me one for free.
