SIM cards at risk Worldwide

It's just a little more of the same. They're now going to monitor every cellphone conversation in the world? And analyze them all? There are only 7 billion people on the planet - if they were all cellphone call analysts, they'd fall further behind every day. (It takes longer to analyze a conversation than the conversation took.)

Considering that FISA is just a rubber stamp, this just saves them a few minutes when they want to monitor someone's phone.

And Gemalto will probably change their procedures so that it can't happen again, and in 6 months, anyone who wants to keep his conversations secret can damage his SIM card and ask for a new one - one the NSA doesn't have the code for.

They're not chopping out heads off, they're picking up a fallen hair.

Maybe, but after seeing how the government has changed since WWII, I wouldn't put money on it. Ike warned us, and we didn't listen.
