I discovered something new in which I did not know about until now. I was trying to set a SIM Lock PIN on my S10e running Android 9 and it turned out that it does accept a 6-digit PIN. I always thought that the SIM PIN was only a 4-digit PIN code.

So I managed to set a complex 6-digit SIM Lock PIN which is the same as my Screen Lock PIN to make myself remember less PIN codes.

How much of a security risk is this?

In general password/pin reuse is a bad thing. Cyber community does not recommend doing it. That is general advice, however it is your phone. You can do whatever you wish... Bear in mind that if someone gets your PIN unlocking the device, SIM PIN will be the least of your worries so it should not matter...

As the SIM PIN becomes useless after 3 failed PIN entry attempts what risk would there be if I were to use the same PIN for the Screen Lock as well?
