SIM Tookit on Verizon HTC M8?

I have been messing with my M8 trying to figure out why i have been getting such bad battery life for the past few week. I performed the battery calibration recommended by HTC. After that I have noticed a new icon in the app drawer called Sim Toolkit. When I click on it it states that its either not ready or no supported.

What is this for and has the VZW M8 always had it? I dont remember seeing it....

I have a vzw M8 and have never seen that icon or app.

Rebooted and cleared cache before trying to battery calibration again and its now gone again....
