Simple question: Best way to watch movies on my Tab 2 whilst on an airplane (no Wi-Fi on plane)

I'm 60 years old and live in the UK. I have a Samsung Tab 2 that I've been using for school purposes (yes! I'm a mature student and loving every minute of it!) and it's fab, but I'll soon be on holiday that will involved an 8-hour flight and would like to have something on my tablet that I can watch if things on the plane get boring.

Because I've never used my tablet for this purpose (other than watching streaming videos), I'm not sure of the best way to get that type of media onto my tablet so I can watch it off-line.

I'm guessing the answer is to purchase or rent a film online (Netflix, Amazon, etc), then download it to my device 'watch later' - but is there a way/an app/a safe website to get some good films onto my tablet without having to purchase them and without having to go through a lot of faff to register?

This is a good application for Android to watch movies online, but for off line watching, you need to download and store on a SD card, 16Gb for example can have enough space to store at least 10 movies.
