Since 4.2, Amazon App Store Won't Stay Logged On

Just got an Appstore update pushed to my Nexus 7 which purportedly has a "Fix for Android 4.2 log-out issue." There's also a "Fix for a battery drain bug." The app version is 4.3.14.3C_522400310

To get it, go to the Appstore's Settings, click on Version and Release Notes, and tap Check for Update.
Same here. Seems to have fixed the issue for me. Won't really know until I try again in the morning.

Got the update this morning as well and it seems to have fixed the login issues hopefully it helps with my battery life which unfortunately has not been as good since the 4.2 Jellybean update.

It seems to not be getting the update on my galaxy nexus...Did you need to sign in before it would find the update?

Try going to the Amazon Appstore, hitting menu, settings and then version. I think there is an option to check for update there. Hopefully that will force the update since you haven't gotten it automatically yet.

[rant]Why the hell have they disabled paste on the login screen in this newer version? I use keepass to manage my passwords and this is really frustrating. Do they want me to use a totally insecure password? It wasn't even accepting my password when I simplified it. I'm really considering uninstalling the appstore, most of the 300+ free apps I got are totally useless, I might use 5 or 6 max. I can see why some people hate amazon.[/rant]

I got the update automatically on my Transformer Prime and Galaxy S3 but was unable to force it on my N7 (app said no update available) - I had to go the Amazon website to download it and install it.

Guess I've had the app store for a while on my old Thunderbolt. It was version 2.something, and the "check for updates" has been telling me for a long time that no updates were available. Just downloaded it from Amazon again and it's almost unrecognizable (and a lot faster!). Maybe it'll stop force-closing on me 6-7 times a day?

Odd part is that on my Nexus 7 it looks exactly like it did on my Thunderbolt, so I'll check that when I get home and see how old that version is. I can't imagine it's THAT old, but...

Amazon Appstore has always been a little odd in that sometimes you can check for updates from the app, but sometimes you have to uninstall it and then manually download the new version from the Amazon site.

Well the update didn't fix it for me. Since updating the other day I have had to log in three times now. Basically once a day. It's going to be really annoying going into Amazon every 25 days to delete devices.

That's odd. The most current version release is 4.3.14.3C-522400310. Is that your version? If so, then make sure to leave feedback for Amazon. Go to the main screen, then Menu->More->Leave Feedback, and let them know you're still having problems.

My Amazon Ap Store is also hosed.

I don't blame Amazon, but Google.

Of course hard will Google try to give users access to purchase from Amazon???

That's the version I have.

I suppose you could also go to Manage Apps and clear the cache and data.

The Amazon app store works just fine for me since I installed the latest version. Yes, Google technically caused it by changing some underlying library that Amazon was using. No, Google did not do it on purpose nor do they actually care whether you are using Amazon's app store.

I don't have a Nexus or Jelly Bean. I am running a Galaxy S2 and this logout problem is driving me nuts. Mine says it is version 4.5.16.0C. The release notes says it takes care of the 4.2 logout problem. Now how about fixing the problem for those of us NOT running 4.2.

I use an app daily that makes me log in every time I use it. It is a paid app and a royal PITA. To make things worse, it doesn't even take me back to the app after I log into Amazon.

Does anyone know if there is an APK or whatever for an older version that doesn't have this crappy behavior?

Thanks

I do use Amazon App rarely on my N7 since I tend to get my music mostly through Play now. But, I did have logout issues on my phone the past days which is still 2.2.1 LOL!
Also, I logged into Amazon on computer and saw 15 devices for each time (only have two). Cleaned that up.

I was having this issue on my Nexus 7 running Jellybean, but it seems to be ok now. However, I now have this problem on my Atrix 4G running 2.3.x ... Pretty annoyed at Amazon now...
