since AndroidCentral seem to hate SD card slot, will Samsung release phone WITHOUT SD card slot?

People would be wiser to spend the extra money they spend on SD cards on a phone with a larger memory.

So, if I don't want a phone with a micro SD card slot, I should probably choose one of the following:

LG G2
LG Nexus 5
Motorola Moto G (Non-LTE)
Motorola Moto X
OnePlus One

Are there any others that we could add to the list?

Moto E has micros SD slot and comes with Kitkat, does this answer the question of compatibility of kitkat with SD card?

For me it's very essential.

The Moto E targeted market is at the income of people in China. The Moto E only has 4GB of memory for all Apps. Android 4.4 KitKat limits the access of apps to the microSD card, by only allowing them to write files to their own folders, a problem that causes issues for all kinds of apps, from file explorers, to music apps, and more.

Go ahead and buy the Moto E with Android 4.4 KitKat but it won't be long before you see it is very limited with the number of Apps you can have even with that 32GB SD card it supports.

The SD cards security issue solution is to replace the SD card with a new removable format that doesn't have the FAT32 file format security issues. However that creates new problems when that card is removed since files that the smartphone thinks are there are gone. That fix is to mount and un-mount volumes that would make a person become a storage manager if they had several of those new removable format cards. Google is doing the simple fix just buy a phone with enough storage for your needs and use the Cloud that is theoretically unlimited storage.

Well, if we're going to look at the Moto E, we should also take into consideration the Motorola Moto G LTE, Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, HTC Desire 816, HTC One Mini 2, LG G2 Mini, and the Asus Padfone X. Those all have micro SD card slots and KitKat.

Couldn't disagree more. I have 64gb micro SD card that cost me $35 and it is full of music and videos. Id rather spend $35 to expand my memory more then buying a whole new phone model to do so.

I totally agree that spend less on a sd card... i on the other hwnd cant believe that they can endorse the non sd card approach and totally forget about that people use it not for transferring apps to it...

This is my first Android phone without an SD card and my first Android phone without a removable battery. I have a Nexus 5.
While not having an SD card is a pain, the really bad thing is having a fixed battery.
Because it or a Nexus device, I could spend a little extra and got the 32 GB model. I am seeing how IFTTT can be useful in saving pictures, email attachments and other bulky things into clouds.
Rather than buying a bigger battery or having a spare, I have been trying out ways of recharging from other batteries. Not as neat as high capacity battery and bulkier than a spare.
No. Not having SD is a nusiance but a fixed battery is downright stupid...
