Sirius XM and other online Music apps

I use my Xoom to play and listen to music. A little disappointed that Siruis XM does not have an app in the Market and Pandora is not tablet ready yet.

I am as well. I cannot remember who makes the Sirius XM app so that I can e-mail them but if I find it I will post it here.

I pulled the sirius xm apk off of my droid2. It only uses a small portion of the screen, but it plays.

And screw pandora. I've been using audiogalaxy and stream my own music collection off of my own computer.

I sent an e-mail in and here is the reply I got. "Currently we have no requisition from SXM for the support of that device. That would be a question for SXM."

a new xm/sirius browser was introduced today, hopefully a tablet version is avail soon. I hope that when Flash is introduced we have access at that point.

Kurtrail, a how -to would be greatly appreciated, or even a brief run down of how this is done.

Easy Way to install

Download the sirius app right from Sirius' repository.
http://www.siriusxm.com/app-download/android/siriusxm.apk
Then plug in your xoom and go to the directory "SDCard" or similar and a folder called downloads. Paste the file in there. Then use a free file manager like Astro file manager for Droid or similar, navigate to the download folder and click on the app and then install it. It might give you some BS about it not being right from the market and you might have to click "settings" and check the "allow apps from outside the marketplace" check box. If it does that then just install it again. Whamo, Sirius Xm. Keep in mind, it won't make an automated shortcut but big deal , go to apps and drag it to your required screen.

And BTW, Pandora works great for me... So what the album art doesn't fill the screen, I can play Pandora in the background while I angry birds on my 10.1" screen!

I tried that method and installed it. But when I open the app and after logging in, it just gets stuck on "Checking for Updates". I'm trying this on a Toshiba Thrive tablet.

Any suggestions?

You can listen to Sirius/XM through your browser.

I found using Sirius/XM thru the browser on the tablet to be kind of clunky to use. I did send an email to their support group asking when an Android tablet-optimized app would be available and got the below stock answer like you get from most of these support groups that tells you absolutely nothing:

Hopefully this can be fixed with 3.2. It open and loads but only in portrait mode. But I guess beggars can't be choosers. Thanks for posting the apk though.
