Six reasons to get the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active

Thats what I was thinking :) I had stopped in at the local AT&T and the guy there said the Edge is soo much better. When I asked why he said the resolution on the Edge was way better and that I may have gotten a bad phone as the battery should last way longer. However my research cant substantiate either of those claims.

The S6 active and the edge both have the same screen resolution. That AT&T employee was full of...uh, crap.

This may sound stupid, but did you turn the volume up in the settings? Once I did it made mine significantly louder.

I just double checked the "sounds and notifications" > "volume" settings to see if there was anything else in there that would increase the "media" volume. Looks like there isn't. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

No. Your rant was spot-on. I don't like how the industry tells us what is premium in a device. Glass? Really? That's a premium material? Glass, to everyone, evokes the vision of frailty, of something that breaks easily. I like knowing that my S6 Active isn't going to get scratched easily if I use it without a case.

Amen! Glass is just not practical for something you use daily in my opinion.

With the much larger battery and stronger protective build, I'd buy this today if I wasn't on Verizon with a long time UDP in place!

Even though I prefer a removable battery, and am waiting to see the upcoming Note 5... though if it's gigantic I might have to pass...

The S6 Active looks to be a really neat phone, especially for folks like me who are in rural and mountain areas a lot.

I think if the S6 Active was available to other wireless companies like Verizon Sprint etc., the sales would be huge. Just my gut feeling and opinion. (Well not the camo versions though) :-!
There is a lot of buzz with this phone right now. Much more buzz than the past Active versions.

So I have had my S6 Edge for a couple of days now and although I really like it for the most part I cant stand the battery drain. Yesterday I made it almost 10 hrs before it was so depleted that the screen lighting pretty much shut down completely (and power save was off). And although the edge thing is kind of "neat" I dont see myself using it much if at all.

So I am thinking of taking it back to AT&T and going to the active. Other then loosing some storage space (that I probably wont use anyway), a finger print scanner and some glass and metal is there really anything else that would make my decision a bad one ?

I live in the Pacific Northwest and we get a lot of rain so being water resilient is a huge plus oh and I have 3 kids so more durable is always better.

I just bought the Active the other day and love it. The battery life is insane. The battery last for hours and hours, even with heavy use. It's also a great phone if you have kids. You don't have to chase them around praying they don't drop it and smash it.

I'm most likely selling my S6 128gb and going for this one. The only two issues I see are lack of storage and questionable updates. But I doubt I have it long enough to cause an issue there. I'll just have to limit some apps and make sure to transfer pics to my computer every now and then. The only real issue I have with the S6 is battery life. I felt like I was tied to a charger all the time. It did lag from time to time, but I could get by with that if I had a battery that lasted forever.

Do it and don't look back ;) I just traded in my S6 Edge yesterday for this phone and am so glad I did. The battery on my Edge was terrible and I couldn't stand having to charge mid day to make it all the way through. As far as space goes, I too was a little aprehensive but really I don't ever use that much but have come accustom to just having and feeling like I need a ton. Currently with the OS and the typical handful of apps I use I have 22gigs of free space.

So there ya go ;) Oh ya and the battery kicks a$$ .

I'm really looking at it. The only issue I see is the storage, but I'm kind of like you and think I'm just accustomed to having a ton of extra space that I don't use. I think it'll probably help cure my app hoarding. When I get a chance in the next few days, I'm going to go check one out. That battery life looks insane. That's what I need.

It is insane!
Plus it still has quick charging and wireless charging. Sounds like I'd be in battery heaven!

I'm a stock Android fan, but the toned down TouchWiz is definitely tolerable. I've been using an S6 for a few weeks, so know I like it.
