Skeptical about the UI

welp I got home about 2 hours ago with wife's new D3. Told the reps there about the battery being drained with the out of the box Global mode on and that changing it to CDMA ONLY mode keeps it from trying to find the GSM band and so now when they prep a D3 for a customer they are now changing the network setting to CDMA only for them right off the bat unless the person asks to keep it on if they are leaving the country right away. So far the phone is amazing and I think my wife will really enjoy it. I just have to wait a few more weeks for my upgrade to the bionic if all goes well.

My big question there is, "how many of those users are coming from dumb or feature phones?" Pretty much anyone coming from one of those phones would list the battery on the D3 as a con as they are coming from a phone that can usually go 3-4 days without charging to one they have to charge everyday.
It's true, I came from a feature phone before I bought my OG Droid, and I used to go anywhere from 2 - 7 days without charging my phone. And with the Droid, I try to charge it whenever I can so it doesn't die on me. (but i get a good days worth of life with the droid =] )

Asked this same question over @ Droid Life...I was told that app drawer scrolling is only horizontal and there is no vertical option. Don't know if this is absolutely true but just what I've been told.

Speaking of the new Moto UI on the D3/Bionic, I heard the icons in the app drawer scroll Horizontal? Not vertical like i am used to. Anyone know if this can be changed? If not that will give me enough reason to stick with Launcher Pro.
