Skinned Google Messages

The space is not the only difference why do you keep insisting on saying that. The space is the space, the new features are lacking and while they aren't earth shattering, I have had and miss them. If I hadn't had them I wouldn't know to miss them.

Apparently the iPhone emoji feature is now rolling out on the stable non-beta version of the open Messages app. Which should mean it should be working in the open beta (there was a post or posts suggesting it had been pulled back after working for a while in the open beta). Given that the nomenclature of the versions is the same, otehr than "open" and "samsung," that feature, and the other RCS features that have been available for a while now, should damn well better work on the Samsung version.

Anyone who's fully updated the Samsung themed Messages, especially the beta, see any changes liek that within the past day or so?

I have most of the things outlined in this article on my currently installed open beta version. I haven't had anyone emoji reply from an iPhone to know if that works, but the personal and business categories, nudge feature, etc. are in the open beta pushed on Thursday. So, we cn use those features right now.

I still want to know if anyone who's using the Samsung skinned beta also has the new fetaures (and is the iPhone response feature working)?

I'd prefer to be able to update the app from Play, so if the Samsung beta version has all the features working, I'll go back to that.

Short answer is no. I believe the Samsung skin supersedes the messages beta even though it keeps telling us there's an update. I just wish they would quickly update for us S22 users so we don't have to keep receiving messages/notifications when an iOS user actions a previous message.

I didn't expect any of the non-beta versions to have those features yet. They're on the way according to the articles about them.

But that means the beta versions (which also appear to be release candidates) would have them.

Yeah i agree you should see those features already as a beta tester not sure why iPhone reactions not showing for you

There is a Sasmsung beta version. It is "newer" than the open beta since it's obviously based on the open beta. That's why I'm asking the question. I want to know if there's anything not working in the Samsung beta that is working in the open beta.

Back with my Note 20u i was installing the skin message app APK for like a year in a half so when it finally came to the s22u Note i didn't bother any longer

Is anyone seeing the iPhone reactions with the skinned beta yet? I have the non-beta and haven't received an update.

I can confirm on the open beta that the new iPhone emoji replies work. Just tested it out with my daughter. The non-beta fuctionality is rolling out or will soon, so not everyone will have it at the same time.

The latest open beta version is: messages.android_20220304_03_RC00.phone.openbeta_dynamic. The Sasmung beta version is at the same version.

Since nobody has answered about whether the Samsung skinned version beta works with the iPhone reactions, I may as well take the Play update to the Samsung version and see.

The iPhone emoji replies work on the Samsung skinned beta release.

Other than the colors (the open beta was colored with the overall system theme I have assigned via the hex app) and the space at the top of the main screen (which can be swiped up), I would guess everything else in the Samsung beta is the same as the open. For the convenience of being able to update via Play, I'll stay with Samsung now.

Thanks! I signed up for the beta again.
