Skip Dots Problem

My Moto Skip works fine, but my Skip Dots don't unlock the phone. The phone recognizes them and wakes up but it doesn't unlock. Is there something more I have to do to configure for the Skip Dot vs the Skip?

They don't work if there is metal underneath them. I thought I could stick one on my notebook but since there is metal under the plastic case, it won't work there :-\

Yes, I finally read that, thank! Still even after I put it on a wood surface, it took a while to recognize the dot and ask if I wanted to enable it. Can't say what made it wake up finally, but it works!
