Sent... so you download the apk, touch and hold on it, then select install, and it immediately throws an error message that it cannot install?

Try going to "Settings" "Applications" and check "Unknown sources" and then try to install it.

Resending. I apparently left the "2147" off your email when I sent it. I'm still new to Andriod OS (been on Blackberry for 6 years) so I'm not totally up to speed with troubleshooting yet.

Do you have any firewall/virus protection apps installed that may be causing a problem? Mine installed without any trouble and I even used it last night to skype with family while we were out.

Someone here will be able to help you. As a test case, have you tried installing the Skype app from the Market?

I didn't think it was necessary to start a new thread about this so I'll just put it here.

I was going through the phone with Astro yesterday and I saw that there are 2 or 3 Skype libraries in the phone already. I haven't installed anything related to Skype since I had the phone (got it at launch). I think they'll release Skype soon enough.

Got the app, thanks man! However, same thing. Will not let me install. I know it has something to do with permissions, but I'll have to figure out how to do it in an emulator. I am using root explorer and tried there, but it never accepts the changes. Do you have the skype app on the phone that came with it or did you delete it when you rooted? I tried the market app but it still doesnt support video.

I'm on verizon and I want to makes 3g calls without using minutes to a friend on sprint. Will the current Skype app on the market (version 1.0.0.983) accomplish this. I could never get a clear answer on this.

I have had Skype installed for a week now and, after the first battery pull to hard reboot my TB, my Skype with video has worked fantastic. I did not do any fix after hearing about the vulnerability and my TB is stock.
