what'd be even funnier--or more ironic, is if it's only initially supported by Thunderbolt (just like Qik only worked on the Evo for a period of time) for a few months

It is only supported by the Thunderbolt at first. Skype Video is only available on 4g devices and since the Bolt is the only 4g device for a bit...

My Evo is 4g. or are you specifically citing it as a device requiring use of LTE?

Honestly..I don't care if the wifi hotspot or Skype are ready at launch.
as long as those features (mostly skype) are added on as an update later on. I would just like the phone to be release before I leave the 17th..but thats too much to ask right? BLAH :-\

Same here. My NE2 credit kicks in on the 16th and I can't take using my BB Curve much longer.
