Skype works for me on the Optimus V. It drains the battery quickly if I leave it on to receive calls though.

It works quite well.. and here is a helpful little app. on market. look up BTmono. it will allow you to route the audio from skype thru a BT earpiece (if your phone won't do it) and will also allow you to play music thru your BT earpiece, will automatically shut off if you get a phone call.
