Skyraider 4.0 Available Now

Does chad's incredikernel work with this ROM? I kinda miss sense a little and would like to try it for a few days.

You need to use a Sense Kernel - Incredikernel is AOSP. Though in my experience the Kernel that comes with Skyraider has great battery life.

Thanks Stig! No my only problem is actually flashing it. I already have my phone set up just how I like and have been running with this setup for a few weeks. My last nightly was 151.

I know I'm SUPER late to the party but I just flashed SkyRaider 4.3 yesterday evening. It definitely flies and seems really stable thus far. Can't comment on battery life just yet. The ONLY things I missed from CM7 right now are the ability to 'delete' homescreens and change the signal strength in the status bar to dBm as opposed to bars.

It is a sweet ROM - it's a wonderland of customization - the lock screen is a world all to itself! ;)

So far...not seeing the great battery life I read about all throughout this thread. But, it's only day one. I unplugged at around 5:30-5:45 this morning and at 11:30 I have about 1/2 of my battery remaining. My signal fluctuates all day though so... I'll give it a few days.

Also, any word on whether there's an option buried somewhere in here to change the signal display to dBm?

How do I remove the stock Sense apps like news, stock, peep etc?

Use a Root friendly like Root Explorer or one of the others (There a a few linked in the ROM's and Mods HQ Thread) and in /system/app rename the bloatware.apk to bloatware.apk.bak and it will not run.

Be careful with the FriendStream stuff though that can mess things up. If you find there is a problem, you can always remove the .bak from the file and get it back.

Thanks Stig! I reckon that was worth $3.99. LOL I decided I'd go ahead and give SR 4.3 another go and run it a few days. Nothing but glowing reviews in this thread.

I am running an older version of Skyraider and want to upgrade to the new one. My problem is that I live in Alaska and there are no Verizon activation towers here, so I have to send my phone to the lower 48 to get it activated. So my question is, does flashing this new ROM require me to re-activate my phone on the Verizon network as part of the installation process?

Yes, after flashing roms it's a good idea to dial *228 and activate (option 1) and update roaming capabilities (option 2).

Lee - you need to get to a rite-aid or a wall mart and pick up a cheap $15 web cam for the hangouts. :)

Heh, it's on the "to do" list. I was using my Linux laptop that doesn't have integrated video and I didn't think it has audio, but as we all discovered, it did have audio. If another hang out happens before I get an external cam, I'll use my Dell Studio. It's all good.
