SkyRaiser won't download flash.

Last night I switched from CM7 to SkyRaider Athena. It's a great ROM and I'm loving it so far, but I have run into one small problem. I can't download Adobe Flash from the market. Every time I try it fails to install and I get an error message telling me that "the package file is not signed correctly". I tried rebooting my phone, I tried waiting to try the download again until morning, but nothing helped. I have been able to download and install all my other apps with no problem, but for some reason flash just won't install. Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix it?

EDIT-Never mind, I solved the problem. There was an older version of flash included with the ROM that wasn't showing up in my list of apps in the market. I uninstalled it and installed the newer version of flash from the market and it worked perfectly.

Does Skyraider Athena come with hulu? I don't remember.

If it does, then that's your problem. hulu requires a hacked version of flash, so to keep it from getting updates and losing the hack (and the swarm of flame posts saying hulu broke!) the dev's put the hacked Flash into the system where it can not be updated by the market.

Hope this helps.

Just keep in mind that you can't use the Hulu app now, since you deleted the hacked version of Flash. I imagine this won't affect most users too much, though.

Yes, regular Skyraider comes with a version of Flash that allows you to use the included Hulu app. I image Athena also has this version of flash and the hulu app. If you want to use the hulu app, you need to use the Flash that came with Skyraider. Don't download the one from the market.

Thanks for the replies, all. I got the flash problem solved but I ran into another problem. This morning when I powered my phone back on Athena took forever, like fifteen to twenty minutes, to boot up. I tried to be patient and wait (after all, the boot screen says "please be patient wail Athena is loading"...) but finally I got fed up, did a battery pull, went into recovery, and loaded a nandroid backup of the stock ROM. I would simply reflash Athena but I'm afraid that I'm going to have the same problem. It's too bad too, I really liked Athena and was planning on using it as my daily driver.

Do you have a backup of athena? Or did you try to reboot again before you restored your stock-backup? And what kernel did you have on there?

If you tried to boot it up again it might have worked possibly.

As far as kernels go you should make sure you're using one that is AOSP based when using athena or other vanilla roms, otherwise you could encounter some issues.

I hadn't made a backup of Athena yet, unfortunately. I tried rebooting it twice and got the same result both times, so I eventually did the battery pull. As for kernels I was using the stock kernel that came with the ROM. Athena is sense based so I didn't know it was possible to use AOSP kernels with it, but in that case I'm going to give Incredikernel a try when I reflash Athena and see how that goes.

Ah you're right, it's been a while. It's a hybrid rom.

Maybe if you change the kernel you could get better results, but i dont know for sure.

So I reflashed Athena earlier this evening. I had one random reboot and when I turned the phone back on after that I was again caught in an infinite boot loop, but I did a battery pull and it booted up fine after that. I installed Ziggy's latest kernel, so hopefully that will help.
