Skyrocket...

...thus far my Skyrocket seems to be holding up. I went to get a Ghost Amor installed today. It is on order, and will be installed on Wednesday or Thursday next week.

Sorry, I never had it installed. I returned my Skyrocket yesterday. My battery needed charging twice a day at least (listening to music and using the device in general), so I decided to go back to my iPhone. It does all this seamlessly and I still only charge every two days.

I'll just have to wait for a newer iPhone and really hope they make one with a slightly larger screen...

Good luck with iPhone. I have been very happy with the battery life so far on my skyrocket, especially with my extended battery. Hope you keep in touch on AC.

Yup, if this were my primary phone I would have to return it too. On a recent business trip I found myself completely distracted by tracking battery life.
It's too bad, I really do love the device. But it barely made it to lunch.

I have not had any issues with the battery at all and I came from a iPhone 4s to the SR. I'd be interested in what your were doing to "barely make it to lunch". I use netflix a lot on my phone and can easily get several hours of movies in with power to spare...I would be hard pressed to run my skyrocket down to nothing by lunch...my guess is you have the brightness up higher than necessary...but hey it's your phone do as you wish. I don't know of any large android phone out there that doesn't need some battery saving measures to be taken...goes with the territory...problem with the iPhone 4s in my eyes is you can't swap in a fresh battery(easily at least).

Well good luck with it man! I think the new iPhone will be something pretty cool, so enjoy that if you go that way. I wish i could afford to just go buy these phones without having to be locked into the 2 year committement thing...I am already starting to think how I am going to miss not being able to use the Galaxy 3...I hear it is going to be made of high-tech ceramic!...good bye to the plastic casement...the iPhone 5 is rumored (and apple has contracted with the maker of) to be encased on the back at least with "liquid metal"...a super strong form of glass supposedly as strong as metal...mmmmmm wow I am really wanting to see these new phones!!!

Do you need a different battery cover for the battery to fit or can you use the stock cover? How much extra battery life do you get with that new battery?

It fits with the stock battery cover which is nice. I seem to be getting a few extra hours of battery life. So far I like it a lot.

I had the Skyrocket but I returned it. It would barely get me through a shift at work. I would get home with 10% battery left. I thought the extended battery would bulge out make the phone bigger and need an aftermarket battery cover. I may go buy it again and order the battery you posted. I may just wait a few days and give the Skyrocket HD a chance to come out.

I exchanged my 4S that I had about a week yesterday for the Skyrocket. I was having to recharge the 4s battery after about 7 hours (10% left) with my normal use. I was hoping for a much better experience and this was one of the "might sway me" factors.

With a similar set of apps and usage on the SR, I still have 40% battery left after 7 hours.

I'm sure that will vary on some days, but initially I'm impressed with the battery life over the 4S, especially considering the much bigger screen size and LTE usage when not on WIFI.

I'm never far from a car charger or power outlet, but I still may pick up the 2250 mAh battery...

I switched back to my 4S on Friday morning. The battery life on the Skyrocket, even after the update to 2.3.6, was still causing me to charge my device twice a day.

Thus far the last time I charged my 4S was Friday morning. Hence my device has a standby time of two days and six hours. And I've just connected it to the charger with 21% battery life remaining.

This is why I went back to my iPhone 4S...

Yes, I exchanged my iPhone 4s for the Rocket In the Sky...and I love this thing...iPhone is very good phone...but the Rocket...fugetaboud id....it is superb. I actually get a little better battery performance out of the Rocket also...so I haven't looked back..and I too love the bigger screen...enjoy man...and naviwilliams...you may be back man...get that Sammy 3 that is coming down the pike! Bottom line on the rocket is it has a big ole screen...but it is vivid screen...KEEP THE Brightness down!!!...you don't need it that high...and it makes all the differance on this phone...also I don't PUSH mail...another huge differance...I get better battery out of this phone than the 4s...and I ride the Rocket...in the LTE sky.:D

First, what exactly is the screen shot of you guys are posting and how do you post a screen shot from a phone?

Screenshot - hold the home button, and press the power button ;)
Calibrate - every so often you let the battery run all the way down, and then fully charger, versus doing a 'top up'...

After trying numerous times, and only getting the "Task Manager" screen:

I was finally able to get this:

SC20120423-201937.jpgg

I'd say my battery performance SUX!!!

Looks like very good screen on time...try turning down the brightness...and check for standby/idle drain...it should not be more than 1% when the phone is in standby. I use my phone a lot and always get considerably more than what you are showing here.

You know, I'm never far from a charger of sorts. But, me switching back to my iPhone 4S was more about the 'principle' of it. Meaning, if I have two devices, and I use them the same, why does one give me two-to-almost three days of battery use (iPhone 4S), and the other barely 12 hours? Now, I understand that the screen on the Skyrocket is bigger, but seriously, is it just that Apple make their products totally different to anyone else?

1. I want at least 15 hours of battery life from a device (with normal use)
2. a decent size screen
3. decent hardware

Is that asking for too much?

That's exactly what I get with my Skyrocket.
